LM556/NE556 Dual Timer IC

The LM556 is a dual timer IC, similar to 555 Timer IC but here it has two such timer devices into a single package. It is considered to be the modern replacement for 555 since it uses the latest CMOS technology.

NE555 Timer IC has an operating voltage from +5V to +18V and the output pin can source/sink up to 150mA current. The minimum threshold voltage for the trigger pin is 2.4V when operated with 5V.

5,9	Out	Normally connected to load
6,8	Trigger	Responsible for the transition of the flip-flop from set to reset.
