The Story
The 24C04 4k Serial EEPROM IC provides 4096 bits of serial electrically erasable and programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) organized as 512 words of 8 bits each. It is a two wire, 8-Pin EEPROM IC in which EEPROM stands for Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-only Memory. It has a operating voltage range of 1.7 to 3.6V which makes it very suitable for 3.3V systems. It can be cascaded with 8 similar ICs if expansion is required. It works with Serial-Two wire, I2C protocol and hence very easy to interface with most of the MCU and Development boards and requires only two wires to interface. So this EEPROM is very suitable for applications where low-power and low-voltage operations are essential. Max. supply current for this IC is 1mA.
